Est. 1999 Version 7.1.0
If you are in the market for a SATA 3.5-inch internal hard drive then stop what you’re doing and run to your nearest Best Buy right now and buy the Western Digital WD Caviar SE16 500GB|Go. It’s on sale for $85 plus tax, which in my neighborhood came to $93. That’s roughly 18.6 cents/GB which is shockingly inexpensive for a drive of this capacity. The drive is a snap to set up (took me about 3 minutes to physically install in the computer & a little longer to enable the drive in the bios and install the software), and purrs like a little kitty. A really quiet little kitty. It also has a 16MB cache and spins at 7200RPM.
I also happened to notice Best Buy has the new Western Digital 320GB Passport Portable Hard Drive for a mere $149 + tax. If I needed an ultra-portable I would buy this too. Not only is it incredibly stylish but at this price it’s a real steal.
I don’t normally frequent Best Buy but it’s the nearest computer store to my house, and in a pinch it satiates a craving for technological instant gratification.
Now stop reading this and run to Best Buy. Run like your feet are on fire before they sell out of these drives!!
