Last Saturday Mom and I took BART into the city, getting off at Embarcadero and walking the few blocks through the tents of artisans selling their wares to the Ferry Building and it’s wonderful farmer’s market. It was a perfect day!

It’s a beautiful area, especially since the revamping after the 1989 earthquake.

Our only goal was to go to the market, sample, sample, sample and perhaps buy. Mission very accomplished on all fronts.

I spent almost a month’s salary on these macarons (that’s how they spell them) from Miette.

Mom was more tempted by the grocery store across the way.

One day I will own this sign. Perhaps many of them. At least one will go inside my classroom.

One of my favorite historical figures.

And here he is at the market.

Later that night Kim & Garrett rolled into town and Mom treated us all to the a cappella competition at Cal-Berkeley. It was sooooo fun! (Garrett is the one behind the camera.)
