Liz called earlier today to tell me someone broke into our car yesterday by throwing a rock through the rear passenger window. The perp stole our Kathmandu-brand tent that we bought in Australia, Liz’s Christmas 2004 iPod, her scriptures (Liz says maybe the perp will read them), and a few other odds and ends. Our renters insurance should cover the loss but what a poor end to our two-year stay in Washington State.

It was in the middle of camping, Saturday afternoon. I was parked at the Shi Shi Beach official day-use parking lot and gone for 3 hours. Three rangers saw the break-in and and pulled over a few minutes before I came off the trail. Then they walked me through the whole police report thing. It was actually an interesting story. But more later. I need a nap! Oh- they did take a few things, but luckily it wasn’t as bad as it could have been. Another guy’s Izusu Rodeo was also hit, same place and time as mine.
