Those of you who visit darinliz.com often may have noticed a new addition in the right column of the site just below the search button. It’s an instant messaging window that allows you, the visitor, to talk to us, the writers, directly through this website if we are online (which we often are).

If we are online the window will indicate “darinliz is online” and the conversation bubble icon will be green. If we are not online the window will indicate “darinliz is offline” and the conversation bubble icon will be red.

If you see we’re online and want to say hello follow these steps:

  1. Look towards the bottom of the window for the text edit nick: Your Name Here. Click on that text and type in your name or some other identifier if you want us to know who you are (otherwise you will be identified to us as guest8375 or something similar).
  2. Next find the text Type here and hit enter to send a private. This is where you type you message. Simply type whatever you want and hit enter and we’ll be having a conversation. That’s it!
  3. If the whole idea of this creeps you out you can disable the Instant Message window by clicking on the little green button in the top right corner of the window. If you click on it the entire instant message window will grey out and the text Click here to chat with darinliz will appear.
