On Tuesday several of us headed out to Writing on Stone Provincial Park. You can read more about the history here. The museum at the park is cool and pretty extensive.
It was fry an egg on your neighbor’s forehead hot that day, though. Walking out to the “Battle Scene” rock art, created some time in the late 1800s, was a sultry affair. Perhaps on a friendlier day we would have been more thrilled. Needless to say it was the only rock art we hauled our sweaty selves to that day.
Darin and Andrea and I dared to leave the air conditioned cars once more before heading to the river to check out this view point.

Then on to Milk River! We were here all afternoon and had a total ball.
Then some hoodoo action. These were a lot of fun to run around in.
This is absolutely one of my favorite photos of the bunch. She’s just trying to make a peace sign, just like everyone does in Japan - where she has been living for the last year. She just got a finger stuck. Oh! Hee hee! My sides ache every time I look at this picture. I’m still laughing.
Relaxing in the grassy shade before the drive home.
And the best way to end a day at the beach? A backyard weenie roast.

We were there last year when it was super hot. We stayed at the river the whole time. Oh I guess we went to the interpretive center which I thought was great mainly because they had free cake there.
